The Prime Earth Recycling Event

This new initiative consists of a series of recycling drives happenning in various neighbourhoods throughout the year. Our goal for this initiative is to promote recycling within our communities as well as help fundraise for our other initiatives, as well as provide a fun way to spend the day with our volunteers.

Prime Earth's first neighbourhood recycling drive covered roughly 300 homes in the Arbutus Ridge area of Vancouver, BC. On Saturday, February 27, 2010, 10 members and volunteers headed out to collect bags of printer cartridges, cell phones, and empty beverage containers from homes within the area of 16th Avenue, Oliver Crescent, MacDonald Street, and Trafalgar Street. On July 10, 2010, members and volunteers once again went out in the Arbutus Ridge area of Vancouver, BC. The area covered by this event was bordered by Macdonald Street, Oliver Crescent, 22nd Avenue, and Vine Street. For our third recycling drive, we moved south of King Edward Avenue and collected from homes in the neighbourhood of Prince of Wales Secondary.

On October 31, 2010, we will be holding our fourth Recycling Event! This time we are moving west of MacDonald street, again covering roughly 300 homes.
